The National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Action Toolkit provides practical actions for sole traders and small businesses.
Our take
Start with the toolkit rather than trying to solve everything in one evening. Choose a short task, finish it and record what changed. Put another session in your diary if that helps you keep moving.
Keep the work relevant to the devices and accounts you actually use. If you run a business from a home PC, include that PC in the plan.
Make it useful
Before changing settings, make sure you can recover access to the account. Keep a note of unresolved questions and ask for help when a task is unclear.
